Green Meadows is all about escaping the rat race for a bit of me time. 

This year the lovely people at Gateway HR have helped us build the best Health and Well-being area yet at Green Meadows.

In the Main Tent we will offer a completely free program for our festival goers.

Identifying Stress Triggers and how to minimise them
As life can get crazy and very stressful when not at the Green Meadows Festival we are delighted to welcome the team from GatewayHR who are presenting the Health and Wellbeing area 2018. The first session looks at what stress actually is, how to notice the signs in yourself and what is causing the stress. Led by HR professionals Emma Wynne and current British Olympic Coach Graham Ravenscroft they will share their knowledge, experience with lots of hints and tips.

Techniques to cope with Stress
This practical fun session delivered by the fantastic team at Gateway HR will give you a toolkit of techniques and strategies to help you and others deal with and potentially eliminate stress.

The very popular T’ai Chi is back for 2018
T’ai Chi exercises the body & mind and is often known as “meditation in motion”. T’ai Chi balances the body & mind with gentle, rhythmic, flowing movements. T’ai Chi helps reduce stress, anxiety & depression & strengthens the core. T’ai Chi is low impact and helps reduce inflammation and benefits arthritis and fibromyalgia sufferers. Suitable for all ages. Green Meadows welcomes Ann Stocks to the festival for the first time, she runs T’ai Chi sessions across Northamptonshire.

Green Meadows welcomes Laura Anderson who trained as a Yoga teacher in Rishikesh, India. She runs sessions around the UK and also Yoga retreats in Bali and Spain

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a life enhancing technique. Green Meadows welcomes back Susan Livermanwho is a mindfulness teacher having studied at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

Laughter Yoga
Laughter Yoga is back and funnier than ever before for Green Meadows 2018. Laughter Yoga has become a worldwide phenomenon having spread to over 100 countries and is a Green Meadows Festival Favourite

This is run by the lovely team from Gently Be who are based locally in Oundle and offer a range of classes, treatments and sessions

Yoga offers us a healing, strengthening, calming, and empowering practice with something for everybody, regardless of their age, gender, race, size, shape, background and fitness level. We welcome back the Gentlybe team who will be joining us for Yoga.

New for 2018 is Pilates.
Pilates is a system of exercises using special apparatus, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness.Green Meadows welcomes Caroline Eames who teaches Pilates across Northamptionshire.

Introduction to Reiki
We invite you all to join us for an explanation as to what Reiki is and the chance to meet some of our trained practioners this is a perfect opportunity to restore physical and emotional well-being.

New for 2018 is Group Meditation
Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth.

Therapies and Treatments
The plan is to run these sessions as a voluntary donation to Teenage Cancer Trust with a minimum donation of £10 to £20

Reflexology
Reflexology is a holistic treatment based on the principle that there are areas and points on the feet, hands, and ears that map via the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body. When pressure is applied to these areas and points it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels, and helps to restore balance in the whole body.

VHT
VHT is a holistic, non-diagnostic body balancing modality, which assists the body in achieving homeostasis which is the ideal situation for self-address wherein the body may positively look upon any unwanted trauma, structure or disease. After a session many clients notice the positive change in their posture as the moves are carried out over fascial meridian chains of the body using trigger point release. A feeling of calm and re-balance can be felt following a treatment,

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the systematic use of volatile plant oils known as essential oils for the treatment or prevention of disease. It is a form of complementary therapy designed to treat the whole person and not just the symptom or disease by assisting the body’s natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself. Aromatherapy helps to detoxify and uplift

Reiki originating in Japan, reiki has been adapted into varying cultural traditions across the world. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a “universal energy” is supposedly transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.
